Promises to Self

….or atleast resolutions that I am going to try and keep!

There have been several things on my list of to-commit-to-soon for a loooong time now! I have either been too lazy, too preoccupied, or just plain procrastinated on trying to accomplish any of these. So am making a concrete running list. Lets see kitna hota hai aur kitna nahi…

- Clean my room before Diwali! (the state is NOT abysmal anymore:))

- Start working out (this has been on the list of ages now….need to need to absolutely need to get on with this one)

- Create back-up of everything on my laptop..finished half of the backing up! (I have been thinking about this but have not gotten around to it. Am scared of losing all the content. Work/college documents, pictures, and my beloved songs!)

- Work on improving my posture (have noticed a slight humped posture in pictures and in my mother’s reprimanding words…am going to work on keeping my muscles intact!)

- Work on ergonomics and my instrumentation techniques so that I do not get carpel tunnel or atleast prolong it! (along the same lines..habituate my muscles)

- Save money…(pucha naa yaar kya hua ;))

- Study and prepare for the Dentl Admission ka Test for four more years of teeth-study! SIGH!

- Study and prepare of my board exams for licensure

- Have breakfast each morning (trying to start healthy eating habits now..)

- Reply to emails - official and personal (I know i know..I really need to work on this)

- Actually accomplish everything on this list or atleast try to :)

    why does ‘promise-list’ or ‘to-do’ list for almost every college student look so similar ? ;) and yeah, u better create a back-up of everything on ur laptop soon ? u did get the blue screen of death last year, didn’t u ?

    Wow…I agree with Mehul…its the same list everywhere…..I need to do half those things too…the problem is I just think about them and plan to do them…
    …But to start with..
    1. I am replying to emails starting right now. (I just never do for some reason..)
    2. Room cleaning.

    Hopefully one day I will work out regularly and eat…*sigh*..and back up *even a bigger sigh*

    Tell me how much of that you achieve in the coming weeks…

    Wow! Seems a lot of promises to keep. Hmmm. I have tried them a lot, sigh.. many times….they hold on for a few days…sigh..but after that dust starts collecting on them.. and eventually they get forgotten…
    I hope you have better determination then mine & that you will be able to keep your promises… best of luck…
    Reading my above experiences in this regard, I know I am not in a position to give you any advises but yeah.. something came into my mind & I can’t get over it unless I say it…so here I go..
    Suggession is.. try some lame childish tricks with these promises… that means whenever you are able to keep 1 promise.. pamper yourself with a reward..with something u like…maybe a choco..hehehe… & punish yourself if you break one….
    Speaking to others… writing on blogs about it .. might also keep you motivated towards the promises….

    i c.. i hav been seeing this ” working out… ” since the birth of this blog.. but nothing seems to be materialized yet!? & i remember mentiononing abt ur RUSTED poor “aerobics KIT” !!(cycle i rem) some time back.. pch .. let’z c if it has got some good days.. hehe

    Ur start work out and save money are two things i have trying to start for many moons now..

    The pic that you post in ur previous post.. it was one the few things that really shocked me like the other millions…
    Who ever said God was not partial?

    Yup… almost exactly the same things I need to do at the moment..

    clean my room, before they award me with the messiest room in iit!!

    and second thing i really need to do,save money.. i still haven’t got used to the fact, that i’m no longer working :(

    I have several lists such as this one scattered everywhere…must make a list of lists-of-things-to-do now. I make one daily and then proceed to ignore it and do everything else! oh well!

    oh poor u!! i so totally sympathise with u! or maybe..empathise wud be a better word…cos i’m goin thru the same stuff myself!! making lists is something i’ve been doin ever since i learnt to write…and by now, after many failed attempts at accomplishing everything on the list, and many futile resolutions…i’ve become an expert at making ‘workable’ to- do lists. and how do i do that? leave out all the unrealistic goals from the list!! but havin said that…i’m still struggling to get started on the workin out promise to self. aah, who knows? maybe its a chick thing!! :-))

    hi Mehul..yep I think this list is almost universal to all college kids! sachi..!waise yes I have been creating back ups and have created almost 3/4ths..there is a little remaining but the CD drive hasfaileD! So am working on getting a new portable harddrive for more back up..dekhte hai sigh.

    Hey Someone somewhere..aisa hi hota hai..i think about them when I am driving and will be like okay chalo will go home and do this..but that never happens! SIGH..and i know exactly what you mean on the not replying to emails part..good luck with that list!

    hi Navjot, sahi hai..i should follow the pran jaaye par vachan na jaaye….actually the childish tricks are very useful! they work…but then I realize oh what the heck and give up..but this time am trying hard! thanks!

    hi Chandu..hhaha true that! the working out had been on here for along time now..and to make things worse winter has set in so the motivation is at an all time low..sigh! but will try to work on that..and ergonomics..phew that scares me..especially since i am in it long term…

    Hi tony! yup those two things have been on my list for a pretty long time now too..and about tha tpicture in the previous post;..good questions those! but I guess everything in this world is balanced..but fair? I am not so sure..

    WHATEVER DEEPAK….LOL but what you said will hopefully not be true this time..waise I hav e created half the back up but now my CD drive is broken! See there is some power up there that doesnt want me to get that back up……! sigh.

    hi Poonam..baat yeh hai ki list toh un cheezo ki hai jo main bhool jaati hoon..engagement kahan bhuli hoon main..am working on it ..mumma has half not agreed yet aur tickets bhi dhoond rahi hoon..its all full! lekin I am trying…:):)

    Did you clean your room yet Ricky? and yes yes I know..i keep talking about working out but it never comes to fruition..now i seriously hope I am able to start working out soon! aur haan breaakfast! i am wokring on that tooo…with time..:)

    kya PV! psychic or what? hahaha..yes yes My sun is Gemini and the master of my moon sign is mercury..so BOTH the things are right..I am a “mithun” by moon sign too..so “the twins” are stuck with me..by sun or by moon…both! hahha…i guess the traits show dont they? Well, getting the list finished does need a Herculean effort..but I think I can make atleast 3/4ths of it happen :) and I shall be happy..then will put hte list back up with the same things next year ;);)
