Food! I am a food lover, and it probably shows around the extra inches I have put on in the last couple of years. I also love to cook and feed people, the ultimate reward being their praises after a well-fed tummy! My mother is the awesomest cook in the world, so nowadays in the kitchen, its always a tease to tell her that I might just dish out something better than her. The biggest challenge for me is to learn Punjabi fare! The cousins keep asking me to do an “internship” with dearest future mother-in-law. B can’t wait to have the best of both Gujju and Punju khaana! Anyways, I am deviating completely away from my point here!
Coming right to the point now, I am HOOKED to Hooked on Heat by Meena. I have been a regular visitor and have tried many of her recipes with some minor changes here and there and I must say, everytime I have had a family full with yummy food and praises galore for me! Yesterday I tried her Paneer Makhani, but used ghee instead of oil and added jeera! It blew everyone away! I was actually told that I might have luck with Punjabi food in the future!
Do visit her and get some fab recipes, what makes Hooked on Heat even better is that every recipe comes with a story! Warm and yummy!

Pictures! For as long as I can remember, I have loved cameras! I have also been complimented on taking the best pictures at family get-togethers. However, I have only done with standard point and shoot camera until now. I am finally thinking of getting a better Point and Shoot with some power features before I move on to DSLRs. I even hinted that B could buy me a camera for my birthday this year I am looking at Olympus SP 550-UZ Sony DSC H7/H9! THE REVIEWS AREN’T TOO GOOD, so am looking at other cameras, any suggestions are welcome!
Speaking of pictures, Manpreet just started a new photoblog! I love the template and I love his pictures! Do check it out. I hope Manpreet gets a new camera and brings more eye-candy for us! Pixel Talk is one cool Photoblog.

I have a new camera!!!! - Canon Powershot S5 IS and I love it!

Gujarati I have never forayed much into the world of Gujarati literature, but my Nanaji was a Gujarati poet and writer. His poems used to be in some Gujarati textbooks a long time ago. Unfortunately for me, Nanaji left us long before I was born. I have tried to rummage through Mumma’s old house and find his works but haven’t been successful enough to make a compilation. One day I hope to make one! I love Gujarati poetry and not many contemporary Gujju poets are as good as some of the ones I have read when I was younger. But one contemporary poet I like is Japan Pathak! His work is on Flickr and both B and I are impressed! One day I shall translate them for non-Gujju reading junta here!
